Koerperprojektionen

The photographs and video show external views of the human body with sculptural objects projected onto the skin. Dramatic lighting causes surreal discoloring of the body. The figure, an abstracted shape, is floating in a black undefined space.
The sculptural objects, representing organs, are made out of balloons and melted food products. They express a subjective/felt experience of the body interior. The projection of these objects onto the human body reflects a tension between interior and exterior. They express an uncanny relationship to the inner world of the body, which is part of the self but at the same time hidden/fragmented and unfamiliar.
